On May 16, 2025, WEGO Cloud Innovation Park, the strategic operational hub for WEGO Group in the Yangtze River Delta region, celebrated its grand opening in Shanghai. With a total construction area of 180,000 square meters, the park integrates scientific research, industrial incubation, and ecosystem development, marking a significant milestone in WEGO’s regional development and industrial transformation.
The opening ceremony was held in the heart of the Hongqiao International Open Hub and attended by over 400 distinguished guests, including representatives from governments, academia, and industry in both Shanghai and Shandong. Key attendees included Mr. Wu Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Minhang District Committee and Acting District Mayor; Mr. Ke Xiaolin, Deputy District Mayor; key officials from relevant district departments, Huacao Town, and Nanhongqiao Group; Mr. Mei Yanliang, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee of Weihai High-tech Zone; Mr. Li Jizong, Deputy Director of the Yangtze River Delta National Technology Innovation Center; and Mr. Chen Lin, Chairman of WEGO Holding Company.
At 10:58 AM, the ceremony commenced with a traditional lion dance performance, symbolizing the park’s mission to lead industrial trends with intelligence and empower regional development through innovation.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Tang Zhengpeng, President of WEGO Yangtze River Delta Group, reflected on the 37-year journey of WEGO Group. He stated, “From the shores of the Yellow Sea to the banks of the Huangpu River, WEGO has always stayed in sync with the pulse of the times and aligned with national strategies. WEGO Cloud Innovation Park aims to become a world-class platform for medical device innovation and industry-clinical integration, contributing WEGO’s wisdom and solutions to human health and social well-being.”
Amid the celebratory atmosphere of fireworks and applause, Mr. Wu Qiang, Mr. Ke Xiaolin, Mr. Mei Yanliang, Mr. Li Jizong, senior officials from district government offices, Mr. Chen Lin (Chairman of WEGO Holding), Mr. Long Jing (President of WEGO Group), and Mr. Tang Zhengpeng (President of WEGO Yangtze River Delta Group) jointly held the ribbon-cutting ceremony. As colorful smoke rose into the sky, Mr. Chen Lin officially announced the park’s opening, signifying a major breakthrough in WEGO’s strategic presence in Shanghai.
Looking ahead, WEGO Cloud Innovation Park will join hands with local governments, universities, and enterprises to build a vibrant ecosystem for cultivating biopharmaceutical talent through both external recruitment and internal development. By establishing diverse talent development channels, the park will support the high-quality growth of the regional biopharmaceutical industry.
Following the ceremony, guests toured the park’s Smart Exhibition Hall and core facilities, gaining insights into the park’s achievements in digital infrastructure and industrial integration. Standing tall in the Hongqiao International Open Hub, WEGO Cloud Innovation Park is poised to drive the next chapter of biopharmaceutical industry advancement in the Yangtze River Delta — at “Cloud Speed.”
